Interpreting Tables, Charts, and Other Visual Aids
You may have heard the phrase, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. We often use pictures like tables, charts, or other visual aids to help us understand information based on numbers or verbal information. You can find them in newspapers or advertisements, or on itemized bills and receipts. You may need to interpret them to compare phone or internet plans, to help with budgeting, or to view and understand election polls and results. In this course, you will learn how information is organized into tables and how to read and interpret tables. Then, you will learn how charts such as bar, line, or pie charts are used to visually represent the information found in tables. Finally, you will learn how to read and interpret other visual aids such as bus and train maps, posters, and computer icons.
