SIN Policy

The collection of a Social Insurance Number (SIN) is mandatory to register with this Employment Ontario program.  

Employment Ontario programs are free because of funding from the Government of Canada.

The Government of Canada uses SIN information to decide if you are eligible for our program.

A note about eligibility:

Temporary SINs that begin with 9 must be current and you must be a

• Refugee with an open work permit  or
• Refugee Claimant with an open work permit  or
• Permanent Resident

When you enter your SIN here, it is encrypted to protect your privacy.  After we enter it into the Employment Ontario Case Management System it is deleted from our records.
