Grammar Games

This course includes parts of speech, including nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs, using music and rhymes to help practice and memorize new words. Each unit introduces the part of speech with videos, reinforces learning with games and finishes off with a quiz. Finally, all of the parts of speech are put together with a lesson on simple sentences.

Essential Grammar is a 3-part series. These classes teach basic grammar rules that improve writing! Review common punctuation marks such as periods, commas, colons, semi-colons, apostrophes, question marks and exclamation marks. In part 2, review parts of speech. These are categories of words that help to build sentences. Common parts of speech are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.Also, learn how to use the subject and predicate in a sentence and take a look at antonyms, homonyms and synonyms. In part 3, learn more about sentences. Discuss prepositions and phrases as well as clauses and conjunctions. Learn how to avoid common mistakes like run-on sentences and sentence fragments.
