Creative Writing: Telling Your Story
Through a series of fun writing exercises and inspirational readings, remember (or discover) how much fun Creative Writing can be! Gather useful tips on how to make personal stories and journal entries more interesting and readable. Learn how to create a character, how to plan a fictional story, and how to structure a story to entice the reader. Clear lessons and printable worksheets will help with word choice, sentence structure, sentence variation, and punctuation. Be guided to try new methods of proofreading and editing. The topics and practice components in this course can also be used as preparation to write PLAR or the CAEC.

Baking Math is a fun course that teaches how to bake delicious desserts using math and science. Learn to read and adjust recipes with ratios, fractions, and decimals, measure ingredients accurately in imperial and metric units, use a scale like professional bakers, and monitor time and temperature for perfect baking. This course will help improve everyday life skills and math concepts!

Everyday Life - Healthy Eating
This course explores the skills needed to make healthy food choices and plan a balanced diet. It uses real-life documents, like Canada’s new Food Guide (2019), sales flyers, coupons, food labels and store shelf labels. The new guide is a big change because the food groups and serving sizes have been removed. Learn to follow the new guide, and compare unit price, product size and nutrient facts to make healthy choices and save money. Study the floor plan of a grocery store and how to prepare to shop using lists to make shopping trips more enjoyable and focus on healthy eating.
Everyday Life - Identifying & Counting Canadian Money
This course teaches the skills needed to manage day-to-day finances. Learn about Canadian currency, its worth, and the Canadian symbols displayed on each bill and coin. Review how basic numeracy skills can help count and keep track of money, and take the first steps to prepare for employment that requires money-handling skills.

Everyday Life - Shopping with Cash
Having enough money to buy something and ensuring the change received is correct are important life skills. Improve cash calculation skills by reviewing concepts of "counting up" to make change and making complex payments to receive the fewest coins and bills. Get pointers about rounding to the nearest dollar to estimate purchase amounts and rounding to the nearest nickel to make purchases without pennies.

A lot of skills are needed to make healthy, affordable meals. Learn about budgeting and shopping for groceries to get the most value for money spent. Other topics include meal planning, working in the kitchen, and cooking with health in mind. This course includes a variety of delicious, easy-to-make recipes that use simple, inexpensive ingredients. Complete a math activity each week that will help when shopping and cooking.
Goal Setting - Discovering Your Goals
In this course, think about dreams, consider values and talents, and examine needs, commitments, and challenges. Then set a goal and form a plan of action to pursue that goal. Learn useful tips on making choices, researching options, and weathering the ups and downs of the journey.

Reading to Understand the Ontario Driver's G1 Knowledge Test
The first step to becoming a licensed driver in Ontario is passing the Written (Knowledge) Test. Examine how to read the questions to answer them correctly. Learn how to identify traffic signs and interpret diagrams. Review the importance of seatbelts, traffic signs, speed limits, meeting a school bus, the Demerit Point System, passing other vehicles and rules of the road.

This course is designed to help families grow thrive together. Think about goals that have been discussed around the dinner table. Whether it's being more active, saving money, or eating healthier, this course can help. Set personal challenges and reflect on progress. Learn about spending habits, budgeting, and money-saving strategies.

This class is an introduction to the structure of the Canadian government. It reviews the rights and responsibilities of a Canadian citizen, who to talk to about issues, and what to do if advocacy is needed.
Kitchen Club
Kitchen Club is a 3-part series, and a fun way to improve your math and baking skills! In part 1, take the fear out of fractions! Learn steps to add, subtract and reduce fractions when baking. Understand how to use ratios and learn how to read a recipe correctly. In part 2, learn measuring wet ingredients, using improper fractions, and tips for doubling or halving recipes. In part 3, discover how to avoid baking fails with simple tips and essential ingredient insights.
