The LearningHub Program Expectations:

EMAIL & REGISTRATION POLICY

Registrations and email inquiries will be responded to within 3 business days (or less).

All learners who register with the LearningHub are required to have their own email account.  Instructions for setting one up are available on the homepage of our website.  Practitioners should indicate in the comment section of the learner’s registration form, or notify us, if they would like to be copied on email communications to their learner.

Registrations for CENTRA classes should be submitted to the learner’s online practitioner at least one week prior to the scheduled class in order to be processed in time.  Learners are encouraged to comment on their registration form if they would like to attend a specific CENTRA class.

INDEPENDENT STUDY – PARTICIPATION POLICY

We recognize learners enrolling in online upgrading have other responsibilities such as families and jobs.  The LearningHub will make all time allowances possible to allow learners to succeed.

However, learners are expected to access their independent study lessons at least once a week, and notify their practitioner if they are unable to do so, or if they need a leave of absence from the program.

Students who have been inactive for over one month and have not responded to email and/or phone calls from LearningHub staff, will be exited from the program.  Learners are welcome to re-register in the program if their schedule allows at a later date.

CENTRA CLASSES – PARTICIPATION POLICY

Many of our live Centra classes fill to capacity and generate waiting lists.

If learners are absent from 2 Centra classes they sign up for (without notifying the LearningHub staff before the scheduled class) they will be un-enrolled from future classes that term.

We will allow someone from the waiting list to take that learner’s spot for all remaining classes that term.  Learners will be permitted to sign up for more classes the following term if space is available.

SUGGESTED LBS LEVELS POLICY

The LearningHub is not an ESL class.  Although some curriculum would be suitable for learners who have a good command of the English language, lessons are not suitable for those just starting to understand English.

It is suggested learners who register for our program have a minimum LBS reading and comprehension Level 2.

While some curriculum has audio components it is recommended learners assessed at an LBS Level 1, or those with no computer skills, access curriculum from an LBS classroom or other supported environment, to optimize learner success.
