I have access to a Computer and the Internet
You will need access to a computer and the Internet to participate in your online upgrading with the LearningHUB. If you do not have a computer with an internet connection at home, you can access the LearningHUB from your local literacy program, library, or public computer lab in your community.

I have a personal email account
An important program requirement for the LearningHUB is that you have your own personal email account before registering for the program. Personal email accounts are a mandatory field for our Independent Study learning platforms. Using your personal email account is important when communicating with your online practitioner and LearningHUB staff. If you do not have a personal email account, this tutorial will show you how to set one up using Gmail.

I can attend scheduled classes; or I have time set aside each week for my online studies
At the LearningHUB we understand that adult learners have other responsibilities such as families and jobs. The LearningHUB will make all time allowances possible to allow learners to succeed. To be successful, learners enrolled in Independent Study Courses must be able to sign in at least once each week, and notify their practitioner if they are unable to do so, or if they need a leave of absence from the program.
I have a good command of the English language
The LearningHUB is not an ESL class. Although some curriculum would be suitable for learners who have a good command of the English language, lessons are not suitable for those just starting to understand English. It is suggested learners who register for our program have a minimum LBS reading and comprehension level 2 or have a support network in place to assist them with their studies.
